Hearing Access in Church and Classrooms
Large Area Assistive Listening Systems are designed for classroom and auditorium sized venues. The base transmitter is usually connected to the existing PA system and transmits the signal out into the room.
Large area FM systems are basically FM radios where the audio signal is 'broadcast' to listeners wearing the FM receivers tuned to the same transmitting frequency. Anyone who wants hearing assistance will need a personal receiver with a listening option like headphones, earbuds or neckloop (for hearing aid telecoils).
Induction loop systems allow people with telecoils in their hearing aids to 'tune in' to the sound without the need for any other type receiver. Only those people who do not have hearing aids or telecoils will need a receiver with a headphone.
